Many creative concepts to improve passenger experience were demonstrated on Sunday at the end of the IATA NDC Hackathon SFO, and I’ve included a description of the ideas and details about the winners below. The SFO #NDCHack took place at LinkedIn offices in Sunnyvale, California over the weekend (25-27 August) with 80+ developers taking part in the contest. The developers formed 22 teams, 17 of whom completed and demonstrated a prototype in just 28 hours. IATA and the API providers provided tech support for the APIs, while travel industry mentoring and advice was provided by myself, airline and IATA industry experts, and Aurélie Krau of Festive Road.
