API providers announced for IATA #NDCHack

May 15, 2017    Comments Off on API providers announced for IATA #NDCHack

Whether you are interested in attending the full weekend IATA #NDCHack (details here) or just the Friday opening event and Travel Massive drinks (details here), ticket sales end on Thursday! It’s a free event, but you must have a ticket.

With the Travel Massive ticket you will be able to attend the event from 6pm start on Friday, watch all of the API providers presentations (details below) and see the one-minute idea pitches from participants, as well as participate in the networking drinks from 8pm to 10pm, with more than 100 people already signed up.

For those of you staying for the entire event, I ‘m honoured and excited to announce that I will be one of the judges. I’m really looking forward to seeing some creative combinations of the available data and APIs used to address the set challenges in leisure or business travel. (And don’t panic when I break your demo – I break everything!)

The APIs will include access to flights and ancillaries from jetBlue, Iberia, Sun Express and Thomas Cook / Condor.

The tech companies providing APIs, data and support include App in the Air (passenger profile and history), IBM Watson (cognitive computing sandbox and starter kit), Indigo / Cityhook (airport transfers and ground transport), LinkedIn (login, share, profiles, companies), Links Rez (hotel, golf & ground inventory), FlightStats (flight schedules, stats, live tracking, historical data), SITA (airport, baggage, boarding pass, weather and more), Skyscanner (hotels and car rental shopping), South Pole Group (CO2 emissions) and Routehappy (airline scores, amenities and ancillary products).
